Gene Thurston

Gene Thurston is security expert whose expertise extends to web services management and web services security (play video). Gene is Security Architect for AmberPoint, a company that offers Web services management solutions. He is also a member of the OASIS Web Services Security Technical Committee and a contributor to security-related specifications. During Gene's 22-year career in the software industry, he's spent a decade working on information security solutions.

Web Services Conference

We recorded an interview with Gene and his presentation at the Web Services Conference at the San Diego Supercomputer Center in January 2004. The interview is a good overview of important specifications such as SAML and XACML.

Gene participated in a panel presentation about Web services security with Jeff Carmichael (Tarari), Mark Colan (IBM), Rajiv Gupta (Confluent Software), and Thor Larholm (PivX Solutions).
